Jerzy Janovicz, The New Hope Of Poland

"I'm just playing the best tennis in my life" - That's how Jerzy Janowicz explains his great performance during the 1000 Masters in Paris.

The Polish player had a lot of great players on his way to the final, like: Philipp Kohlschreiber (no. 19),  Marin Cilic (no. 15), Andy Murray (no. 3), Janko Tipsarevic (no. 9) and Gilles Simon (no. 20). All the matches were a great show, and a great proof of Janowicz's great performance. Let's have a look:

1st Round: The first match, he had to pass through, was the match against the German Philipp Kohlschreiber.  It didn't take so long for the Polish player to end this match, winning it by 7:6, 6:4.

2nd Round: The second match was against Marin Cilic. It was actually pretty similar, with a 7:6, 6:2.

3rd Round:  After that, it was Jerzy Janowicz against the Olympic champion Andy Murray. This one was definitely longer and harder. It ended in 3 sets: 5:7, 7:6, 6:2.

Quarter Final: The next match was between the Pole and the Serbian Janko Tipsarevic. Although Janko retired in the last set, Jerzy did a great work ending this with a 3:6, 6:1, 4:1.

Semi-Final: In the semi final, he had Gilles Simon, which wasn't that hard for Jerzy, winning by 6:4, 7:5.

Final: In the final, he'll face the winner from Michael Llodna vs David Ferrer semi final.

Janovicz was born and raised in Łódź, a polish city in the center of Poland. During his junior years, he has reached two big finals:  French Open 2008, and US Open 2007. Apart from that, he has also reached the Australian Open 2008 Quarter Final and Wimbledon's second round, in 2008 as well. By the end of 2011, he was ranked 221 in the world. The 2012 season, he started not plaing the Australian Open. At Rolland Garros, he reached the third round of qualifying but couldn't make it to the actual tournament. At Wimbledon, he got to the main draw, which was his first time in a Grand Slam. Is it going to be his first ATP Tour title ?
