LMFAO's Redfoo Says He Will Try His Best At The Pre Qualifications For the US Open 2013 !

As some of you may already know, the star Redfoo from LMFAO, is Vika's boyfriend since a couple of months now. While I was watching the exclusive footage from the Internazionali BNL D'Italia on Super Tennis, an Italian tennis channel, I've come across an interview with the pop start Redfoo in which he talked about some really interesting stuff. Now I don't know how many of you actually know this fact, but Redfoo is going to attempt the upcoming pre qualifications for the US Open 2013. As he says, he tend to play a lot of tennis every day, apart from creating music of course, and he's really into it. He admitted, he's able to resist on court as a half of a day without even getting tired. And he practises every single day. In quick words, he just love this sport. And that's why he wants to try his best at the american tournament. Now you may wondering how it is possible for an amateur tennis player to get into the pre qualifictions. I know some people or even a lot of them know this, but there are people who don't know and have never heard about it, just like me two or three days back. So the great thing about this is, every person can be part of this kind of qualifications, no matter how good he plays or anything. So If you feel like playing well enough, you can try your skills there too. Anyway, the american star says he wants to do that, I personally can't wait for that and I hope he get's to the actual qualifications. An another interesting fact about him and Vika as well, this time I'll make it short, is that they might try to play a mixed double tournament together one day. That would be awesome, It's all I'm gonna say. Don't know when, don't know how. He just said that would be a nice thing for them and their fans too, so... But he also added Vika has her career to move on and practise a lot to get on top of the list one day, so he's not gonna bother her about that at the moment.

I know It's more of a gossip think I'm delivering to you, but I found It really interesting so I thought It would a nice idea to write about it here. Thanks for reading, will talk to you soon ! Actually very soon, cause there's and update to create as the Italian tournament is now over.

Madrid's Finals Update and Serena Williams With Her 50th Title !

Last time I said, I'd write a post right after the semis, I lied. After all, I realised there's just one day between the semis and  the actual final so I started thinking, does it really make sense ? No It didn't, so here we go with a new post, but with Men's update as well ! Ok anyway, there we have it, Serena Williams finally, after a long, hard tournament, with the title. Not a simple one though, her 50th title throughout her career. A lot ? I don't know, but I have to say I did expect more of these on her shelf, so I'm kinda disappointed. The final was a little weird, wasn't it ? I mean, after a hard quarter final she had against the spanish Anabel Medina Garrigues in which, I'm gonna say it again, she lost the second set by an astonishing 6:0, and the semi final versus the italian Sara Errani, which wasn't that easy either, she managed to dominate the final with Maria, which is totally supposed to be a hard one for her. I have no idea what happened, but overall it pretty much seems like there's no way the russian can cause problems to the american. It's totally enough to see the statistics, to realise how hard it is for Maria to compete with Serena. As WomensTennisBlog has shown in their last post, Sharapova didn't win against Williams since 2004 ! I find it pretty amazing. But no one should never give up on his dreams, right ?

The match between the two players ended up in two straight sets (6:1, 6:4) showing such a helplessness in Maria's play, that that was actually predictable right from the beginning. The beginning of it was just a four games in a row win for Williams, after which Sharapova somehow took her service and finally lost it by 6:1. The second one wasn't better. I mean it was, ok, but did Maria play better ? I would disagree on this one to be honest, although the beginning was pretty good. Masha managed to break Serena's service and win her, putting a 2:0 on the scoring board. And that was basically all. Well, ok, actually not as she did also win her next service and the one at 4:3 for Serena, putting a 4:4. Than It Was All. What's so surprising and you may have heard about this before, It's Serena's first red clay final sicen 2002 ! (As Huffingtonpost sais) It's perhaps even more exciting than the fact that Maria can't beat Williams since 2004.

But let's pass to Men's final, in which there wasn't that many surpsing facts, so I might be faster on writing about this one... I don't know yet. Well, the only "surpring" fact, was Stanislas Wawrinka's place in the final. Surprising put in quoted, because it's not really a surpring fact. He's a good player with a lot of success, playing a really good tennis causing problems among a lot of players since the beginning actually. But the final wasn't so big, or exciting. As the tennis tv channel I can only watch, which is Super Tennis ( An italian tv basically), did not manage to show the men's final, I don't really know exactly what happened there, I've just seen the highlights. But I can tell Rafa played good. It was his regular tennis in my opinion, which is actually always good. Wawrinka on the other hand, played a nice tennis too but obviously it wasn't good enough to beat Rafa. It's totally improving, he's getting better and better, but If he wants to win over Nadal, It must be something more, you know ? Just my little opinion, don't get mad, please. The result was very similar to the other one above (6:2, 6:4) and the match was too. Just like Serena dominated in her final, Nadal did too in his. And that's actually all what I can say about it, I'm sorry.

Ok, next event ? The great, great Internazionali BNL D'Italia, played in Rome, which unfortunately I will be missing. As I usually go there to enjoy the amazing atmosphere and tennis, I just couldn't provide myself with the tickets needed, not economic things caused it, don't worry. Anyway I will still be providing you with updates, hopefully, as the italian tennis tv channel (Super Tennis) which is the only one i can see have a full time, exclusive transmission, I'll still be able to feel like being part of it and having all the great updates and infos. So stay tuned for next posts ! Ah and no, this post was not sponsored by Super Tennis.

Mutua Madrid Open WTA Semi Finals - Predictions

The big Madrid Open tournament is almost over, and as you propably know, there are the semi finals coming up very soon. The two matches are going to be Sara Errani vs Serena Williams and Ana Ivanovic against Maria Sharapova. First of all, let's congratulate the American Serena Williams for her first clay semi final since 2002 !! (As WTA sais on twitter). Serena had some hard times over this tournament, but the hardest one has definitely been the last, quarter final match agains the Spaniard Anabel Medina Garrigues, who basically managed to take the second set of this match in an astonishing 6:0. I know everyone is talking about it right now, but I can't be different. Watching it, I thought there's propably something wrong with Serena, but what was the actual reason for that ? No one knows, which means it was just a coincidence or a very, very good performance by the rival and Yes, I haven't Watched This Set. Anyway, after that, having a 4:2 for Anabel, it was almost over for Williams. But as always, she did not give up and won it by 7:5, having a very nice, three sets long (6:3, 0:6, 7:5) match. Errani, on the other hand, seemed to play really nice throughout her quarter final, which means there's an interesting match between these two players coming up. But how about Ana Ivanovic and the big Maria Sharapova. Does Ana have any possibilities in there ? I say definitely, showing us a great performance in the quarter final against Angelique Kerber. It's enough to check out the result (6:3, 6:1) to guess how good Ana must have played there. Maria didn't seem to have any problems too, crushing Kaia Kanepi in two straight sets (6:2, 6:4). After that, we can predict a good match, although the answer to the question: Does Ana have any possibilities there, stays undisclosed for some people. So stay tuned and enjoy the two semi finals coming up, and I'll talk to you after it !

Porsche Cup 2013 Final Update

Ok, I'm back ! I know I haven't posted anything lately, but as it's the end of the year, or semester, there's a lot of things that just must be done. And yes, I'm still in highschool, finishing first year actually. Anyways, as you propably know, the big Porsche Grand Prix is over and now it's time to review it. So, as you may or may not know, Maria Sharapova managed to take the title in two, pretty quick sets. The match was between the chinese Na Li and the russian no. 2 in the world. Although I'm pretty sure you knew who'd win, just by seeing the names, Na Li did a really nice job, causing some actual problems to the rival and showing us some really good points. Being Maria's fifth title in this event, everyone started calling her "The Ambassador of Porsche" or something similar, which is cool, isn't it? But let's see what happened on Stuttgart's Porsche Arena court, shall we ?

Maria Sharapova vs Na Li (6:4, 6:3)

As you can see by the result above, it wasn't a long, hard, or tight match, although we could witness some really good rallies throughout it. The first set started with a service break by the russian, which brought her the lead for the rest of it actually. After some time, Maria managed to break Na Li's service once again, at 3:1, putting a nice 4:1 on the scoring board and making it almost impossible for her to do something more there. But did Na Li give up ? Not at all, winning the next two games, and making a 4:3, still in Masha's favour. Event though the set was getting closer and closer, Sharapova, staying all focused, won the rest of her games, ending it by 6:4. The next set was even more exciting. Since from the beginning, both players were winning their games like nothing, showing us a great tennis overall and giving us even more excitement. This situation kept on untill Maria broke Na Li's service at 3:3, after which it was basically over, having all of the three games left, more than in Sharapova's favour.

And there we have it, a two straight sets win by the russian Maria Sharapova, providing herself with some extra points for the WTA Ranking, some extra money to her bank accout and a nice Porsche Carrera to her garage. The next event around the corner, is Madrid Open, right ? I guess so, anyway stay tuned for more and more posts, as I'm almost done with my duties and can return to posting articles and taking care of this blog.

Miami Open 2013 - Women's Final Update

So, as the men's final update is already on this blog, now it's time for women's one and as it was a great match, there's actually pretty much to write about. I know it's a little late, but i just couldn't find any time to write about this, even though it was spring break or easter break, depends on how you call it. Anyways, there it is, Masha vs Serena right below.

Maria Sharapova vs Serena Williams (6:4, 3:6, 0:6)

So the beginning of the first set was a regular one, as both players were winning their services, even though it wasn't that easy and quick, especially the third set for Serena Williams. The regularity of that match ended when Maria broke Serena's service at 2:2. As the no. 1 on the WTA Ranking didn't want to give Maria the lead, she broke her service as well, so it became a regular 3:3 and 4:4, where Serena defended a break point by an excellent first service ace. It did't distract the Russian at all and she managed to take the game after a long, nice rally. When having a 5:4 in her favour, Sharapova couldn't give it up and won the next game in a fast 40:0, winning the whole set by 6:4. Maria, one set from her title, came back to court with a high determination, but Serena did too, so... The second set was as tight as the first one, although a bit better as both players were on fire. After a levelled up 2:2, Maria took the law into her own hands and broke the American player's service, after which Serena broke her service as well, propably feeling the impmortance of it as, if she actually lost it, Maria would have an easy way to her victory with a 4:2.
But it didn't go that way and the great Serena Williams made a 3:3. After that, the higher ranked Serena did win her service and broke Maria's service later, putting a 5:3. Although Sharapova was fighting like never before, it was too hard for her to level it up and finally lost the second set by 6:3. And there we go, the final and decisive set, which by the way was very competitive and actually the most surprising one I've seen in a long time. Don't know what happened to the American, but she went back on court with such a determination, it seemed like she was shooting the ball at Sharapova as hard as she could, playing very effective in result. Apart from shooting balls, she was fast like never before, playing the balls from every position and everywhere in such a great way with such various rotations and target places, that in short terms it was just a Perfect Tennis. And it kept on for the whole set, finishing it by an astonishing 6:0 for Serena Williams. I feel kinda sorry for the lower ranked Maria Sharapova because although she did fight a lot and did play a great, great tennis she still couldn't win against the power of Serena.

There we go, the title goes to Serena Williams, boosting her ranking position even more as well as her bank account. Who is even able to pass through her, she's impossible to play against. Well, in fact she has a prefect tennis so...

Miami Open 2013 - Men's Final Update

The great Miami Open 2013, mainly sponsored by Sony, is already over and I have to say, it was a pretty amazing event. With two top players being absent right from the beginning (Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal) and Novak Djokovic, surprisingly finishing the tournament in the quarter finals we could still enjoy a great tennis. Although it would be even more amazing with them on courts, I think it was still a great tournament with cool matches. Let's have a look at the men's final.

David Ferrer vs Andy Murray (6:2, 4:6, 6:7)

Watching the match, we could really enjoy the great performances from both Murray and Ferrer. The ball was going from side to side, like with no ending and in such ways, that i can imagine Roger, Rafa and Nole sitting in front of their TVs thinking: Wow, what a match i could be part of. Anyways, let's move to the first set and see what happened there. So it went all in Ferrer's favour from the beginning already, having 4 games to 0, all so close. Andy did fight a lot and made the rallies be great, but it just wasn't enough for David's power. While the time was passing by, Murray seemed to realize that he must do more to win it... so he did, playing even better shots and giving the crowd there even more entertainment.
But still, Ferrer didn't want to loose it and won the next game, making a nice 5:0. After that, the British player managed to take the next two, but the whole set finished in a 6:2 for the Spaniard. After the first set, we could expect anythink, both played very similarly. The second set started way better for Andy, breaking the Spanish player's service and providing himself with a 3:1. Although David had a great chance to level the result up at 3:2, Murray did not want to give it back and won his service, making it 4:2. Although defending his service, Ferrer didn't give up and actually broke Andy's service putting a 4:4 on the result board. Even though the Spanish player did show us a big determination, the British one won the next two games, ending the set by 6:4. And there it was, the final and decisive set, which by the way was the hardest and the closest one so far. It was actually weird, watching it, we could witness so many service break's. It was like a service break marathon, as from 0:0 to 3:3, both players were not able to take their own services. The first player to actually take his own service, was David Ferrer. Now, If the Spaniard broke Andy's servce once again, it would pretty much mean the final was almost over. That's why Murray did not loose it, feeling the importance of the game. At 4:4, when both players were more than exhausted, everything could happen. The situation from the beginning came back, having both players breaking themselfs, causing a 5:5. After that, Ferrer created his chance winning his service and bringing a 6:5, which Andy transformed into a 6:6 again, defending a match point. After that, both wanted to end it so bad, but it was Andy Murray who managed to take the last, decisive game by a 7:1. It was basically his dominance, Ferrer seemed so tired, he even sat down for a little bit at 4:1.

By this match, we could see a real battle between the two top players. Now, that the title goes to Andy Murray, it'll definitely boost his ranking points and perhaps his position. I wanted summarise both finals, but as i was writing about the men's one it just became longer and longer and If i were to write about an another final I feel like it wouldn't be the same and the article would just be too long. Don't worry, if you do, I'll still write about women's final sometime tomorrow, i just have to rest ;)

Mimi Open 2013 - WTA Semi-Finals Update

The days in Miami are passing by and now we have the women's final around the corner, which by the way is gonna be a big one with two top players of the tournament. The last match of this Miami Open edition is going to be between  the no. 3 seeded Maria Sharapova and the no. 1 seeded Serena Williams. Why did I say, the final was going to be between the two top players of the event, and than i wrote Maria was the third seeded ? Well, the answer is simple and i bet some people already knows what's going on, but i know some don't. So the list of the players participating in the tournament was written before the Indian Wells, so before Maria went up in the WTA Ranking from the no. 3 to no. 2. Anyways, after the semi finals we can see both players are in perfect shape, going through the matches like nothing. Let's see.

Maria Sharapova vs Jelena Jankovic (6:2, 6:1)

After the hard quarter final mach against Sara Errani, everyone would actually expect a hard semi for Maria as well. In fact, it wasn't that hard at all. Maria started in an excellent way, breaking Jelena's service two times and making a 3:0 in her favour. The serbian did actually win only one point during the opening three games. After that, Jankovic seemed to wake up a little bit and managed to take the next two games. The result board was showing 3:2. Everything seemed like the no. 22 seeded would level up the match, but apparently Maria did not want to lose her lead and won the next three games, breaking Jelena's service once again and won the first set by 6:2 in 34 minutes. The next one was even faster and to be honest we could mainly see Maria playing instead of them both. Just like in the first set, the Russian broke the opponent's service a couple of times, starting from 3:0 for her and finishing with a 6:1.

Serena Williams vs Agnieszk Radwańska (6:0, 6:3)

The match between these two players was incredibly short. As the first set of the the first semi-final between Maria and Jelena was 34 minutes long, the whole match between the players above wasn't even much longer, about 10-15 minutes ? can you believe ? I couldn't untill I checked the summary. Anyway, the match overall wasn't that bad, we could actually witness some nice points and shots from both Aga and Serena. While Agnieszka did fight a lot with determination, after winning four games in a row by the Amarican, we could see the polish player was obviously disgusted by the result. But it wasn't over. Serena didn't want to stop winning games, and finished the whole set in a fast, easy 6:0 taking only 25 minutes. Radwańska being obviously down and demotivated by the first set, we could not expect nothing special from her in the second one. Although that, the beginning of the next set was actually a little beter for the pole. Winning her first game, she could hear a big applause from the crow there. After some time Serena broke Aga's service again, leading by 4:2 and then finishing it in a 6:3. I personally feel like Agnieszka was filled with madness after the match, while going to thank Serena after all, she looked like forcing herself not to cry. And the fake smile when talking with the American ? I just feel so sorry for Aga, she could definitely do better and propably felt like doing better before the match.

After those semis we can truly expect something big happening in the next, last round. I know i haven't posted anything from atp in a while, and i want to apologise for that, but I will publish something from that circuit soon :)
